Accessibility.

What we have built into this site and this event, what we know is not finished, and how to tell us what you need so we can arrange it rather than assume it.

Last updated: [insert date]. This page is a working draft prepared for the IWEC Awards programme and should be reviewed by your legal adviser before publication.

This website

This site is built to work with keyboard navigation and screen readers, uses colour contrast intended to meet WCAG 2.1 AA, respects reduced motion preferences, resizes to 200% without loss of function, and does not rely on colour alone to convey meaning. Every image carries alternative text.

If you encounter something on this site you cannot use, tell us at awards@immigrantwomenentrepreneur.ca and we will fix it and send you the information you were trying to reach.

The evening

The venue offers step free access, accessible washrooms, reserved accessible seating and space for wheelchairs. A quiet room is available throughout the evening, and seating is available throughout rather than only during the ceremony.

Tell us what you need when you register, including seating, a companion place, dietary requirements, a sighted or hearing guide, or anything else, and a member of the team will confirm the arrangement with you personally.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a box we intend to tick once. Live captioning of the ceremony, ASL interpretation and large print programmes are all under consideration for the inaugural year and will be confirmed here as they are arranged. If one of them would make the difference between you attending and not, tell us now, because demand is what gets these funded.
