Professional Services & Business Excellence Award
Founders who sell expertise and have built a firm around it, where the business is not a job with a logo but an operation that grows beyond its founder. Judges look for retained clients, repeatable delivery, and a firm that would survive its founder taking a month off.
Who should be nominated
Founders of consultancies, accounting and bookkeeping practices, law and immigration firms, HR and recruitment agencies, brokerages and real estate businesses, training and education providers, marketing and technology services firms, and manufacturing or B2B suppliers.
How this category is scored.
Each judge scores every criterion from 1 to 10, and the weights below turn those into a single averaged score. Nothing is scored that is not on this table.
| Criterion | Weight | What judges are assessing |
|---|---|---|
| Business Performance | 30% | Revenue, retained versus project income, client count, and average engagement value. |
| Client Results | 25% | Outcomes delivered for named clients, and the value the firm actually creates. |
| Operational Excellence | 20% | Delivery systems, quality control, team structure and how replaceable the founder is in delivery. |
| Reputation & Standing | 15% | Referrals, testimonials, accreditations, industry positions and thought leadership. |
| Growth Trajectory | 10% | Direction of travel over the past three years and the plan for the next two. |
